Jeffery A Emerson

June 25, 1963 — January 7, 2010

Jeffery Alan Emerson, 46, was born June 25, 1963 in Osborne, Kansas to Larry and the late Kathleen Schroeder Emerson. He grew up in Tipton where he attended school and graduated in the Class of 1981.

On October 13, 1984 he married his high school sweetheart Lois Mick. They started their family in Tipton and then later moved to their current residence in Beloit where they raised their children: Kyle, Jessica, Brent, Danielle and Nicole.

Jeff, as everyone knew him, was employed at Crop Production Services for several years and also enjoyed being a police officer.

Jeff's hobbies included spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, hunting, camping, fishing, and playing practical jokes on friends.

He passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, January 7, 2010 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit.

He was preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Emerson and father-in-law Bob Mick.

His survivors are his wife Lois of the home; children Kyle and fiancé Brandi and grandson Kameron of Hays, Jessi and significant other Colby Gilbert of Beloit, Brent and significant other Brandi Remus of Beloit, Danielle and Nicole of the home; his father Larry Emerson and wife Michelle of Beloit; brothers Doug Emerson of Beloit, Roger Emerson and wife Ruth of Beloit, Kevin Emerson and wife Kerrie of Salina; one sister Christy Ross and husband Phil of Topeka; and his mother-in-law Lou Mick of Tipton.

Jeff will be remembered as a loving brother, husband, father, friend and Grandpa, and his memories will be carried on through those who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, January 11, 2010 at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kieffer,Father Donald McCarthy, and Father Daryl Olmstead officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Danielle & Nicole Emerson Education Fund. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
