Jim Huiting

Duane James "Jim"/ "Fox" Huiting was born on May 28, 1953 in Beloit, Ks. Jim passed away on June 17, 2015 at his home. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman that loved the lake and he loved his friends. He spent many days and evenings on the lake and often was referred to "master fisherman" in a joking manner. Jim grew up on a farm north of Downs and spent much of his time with caring for the daily routines of farm life. After graduating from Downs High School Jim was employeed by Pork Packer International for 20+ years and then Osborne County and last at Thomas & Sons Trucking.
Jim married Pam Meier on May 31, 1975. Two children were born to this union, Jason James, Jaime Vanessa, the marriage was later dissolved. Jim was preceded in death by his children Jason James, Jaime Vanessa. Both of his children meant the world to him. His older sister Shirley Rae passed away at birth.
He leaves to morn his parents, mother Juanita Huiting of Downs and fatherDuane Huiting and wife Verna of Downs. Brothers Stanley Huiting of Downs and Brian and wife Minda of Downs, Sisters Tava and husband Wayne Meese of Cheyenne, Wyo, and sister Nancy Wilfahrt and husband Dave of Downs. Niece Lexis Huiting of Aberdeen, SD and nephews Jared and wife Makenzie of Wilcox, Ne and Rocky Driggs and wife Kathy of Smith Center, KS. Great neices Baylee and Aubree Wilfahrt of Wilcox, Ne.
He also leaves a host of freinds and extended family members that will always remember him for his giving nature and those who shared his passion of life and the great outdoors. He will not be forgotten and will be remembered always. He was a Royals and KC Chiefs fan, he was good for one liners, "it is what it is" and "what part of that don't you understand", or his favorite "FISH ON"!

A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 24 at the First Christian Church in Downs. Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Waconda Lake Association Kids Fish-a-Thon.
