Jimmy Warren Robinson was born on August 16, 1952 in Smith Center, Kansas, the son of Albert and Evelyn Mae Carpenter Robinson. He died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the age of 61 years, 4 months, and 26 days.
Jim, as he was known, grew up on the family farm near Lebanon, Kansas.
Following his high school years, he spent several years farming and custom cutting.
On November 16, 1974, he was united in marriage with Joyce Baird at St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit. Two daughters were born to this union.
Jim was an avid hunter, as he enjoyed hunting pheasant and deer. He also loved to socialize, and always looked forward to meeting with friends at the VFW and Caps, and always shared stories of hunting and farming. Jim also enjoyed spending time camping with his family and friends.
He worked for Boettcher Enterprises for 23 years as a certified chemical applicator, and worked with various anhydrous equipment and spray rigs. He also spent many years working for Dale Schmitt, both farming and working cattle.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara Wyman and her husband Larry; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Parr; and a brother-in-law, Erick Baird.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home; two daughters, Christina Reeves and husband Chris of Beloit, and Patricia Wheatley and husband Travis of Cherryvale; two sisters, Beverly Feldmann and husband Dave of Athol, and Beth Gillis and husband Rob of Gaylord; five grandchildren, Clayton and Dallas Reeves, Miranda Hughes and husband Tyler, and Brittany and Kimberly Wheatley; one great grandson, Connor Wheatley; two brothers-in-law, David Baird and wife Margo of Carson City, Nevada, and Michael Parr of Loveland, Colorado; four sisters-in-law, Diane Gronewaller of Beloit, Norma Conrad and husband Wendel of Alma, June Pumphrey and husband Paul of Mankato, and Tammy Eilert and husband Fred of Mankato; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday, January 16 at St. John's Catholic Church. A vigil service will be held at 7 PM Wednesday, with visitation from 9 AM until the vigil service begins at the McDonald Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed. Memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund, St. John's Education Fund, or VFW Post #6242.
