Vaughn JoAnn Gaddis was born November 23, 1927 in Beloit, Kansas. She was the oldest daughter of four girls, born to Elmer and Marjorie Gaddis of Barnard, Kansas. JoAnn (as she was known) passed on March 3, 2019 after a fruitful life of 91 plus years.

She attended Georgia Country School her first eight years of schooling and then attended Barnard High School her freshman year, and then Beloit High School, graduating with the class of 1945.

She married Keith Hansen, and together they raised six children – Michael Kim, Dianne, Bill, Greg, Peggy, and Lisa. While her children were young, she worked as a diligent mother, homemaker, and helper to her husband. Later in life she worked at jobs at Gambles, TG&Y, and Bunch Drug here in Beloit.

JoAnn was active in many organizations, including Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary, and Aspasia Club.

She had 49 years of marriage to Keith before his untimely death. She later remarried to JoDean Simmons.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Marjorie Biggs Gaddis; a sister, Audrey Jorgensen; a daughter, Dianne Mixon; and a son, Michael Kim.

Left to celebrate her life are sisters, Maurita McKee (Vernon) and Marilyn Edwards; sons, Bill and wife Kris Hansen of Beloit, and Greg Hansen of Melbourne, Florida; daughters, Peggy Hansen-Nagy and husband David of Topeka, and Lisa Rady of Westminster, Colorado; grandchildren, Heather Monty, Haleigh Sheler, Luke Hansen, Hadley Hansen, Hannah Hansen, Keith Nagy, Brooks Rady, Carter Rady, Michelle Benzmiller, and Molly Carr; and great grandchildren, Taylor Monty, Brogan Monty, Dawson Sheler, Maci Sheler, Parker Sheler, Quincy Dixon, Ethyn Carr, and Aspen Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, March 11 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-6 PM with family present from 1-3 PM Sunday, March 10 at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Shriner's Burn Care Hospital for Children.
