John William Edwards

John William Edwards was born on December 18, 1946 to Glen and Mayme Edwards, and departed this life on August 22, 2023 at the age of 76.

He worked his early life doing construction, then at Osborne Industries until his retirement.

John married Bonnie Edwards on February 8, 1969. To this union was born Jeffrey, Jack Daniel, Andrew, Jeremy, and Shawn. Then Alisha joined the family in 2009.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Mayme Edwards; in-laws, Roland and Ruth Edwards; a sister, Gloria June; a brother, Daniel; sister-in-law, Linda Edwards; and a son, Andrew.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Bonnie; children, Jeffrey (Jess) of Miltonvale, Jack of Cawker City, Jeremy (Kerra) of Cawker City, Shawn Sweeley (George) of Oxford, NE, and Alisha of the home; grandchildren, Desiree of Hays, Kaylin, Dalton, and Chevelle of Cawker City, Jace Hartman of Stockton, Sierra and Jamie Sporleder of Manhattan, Stephen Sporleder of Kansas City, and Sammie Sweeley of Oxford, NE; sisters, Mayme Glenice (John) Emmot of Colorado Springs, CO, and Margie (Keith) Stout of Beloit; brothers, Sam (Ana) of Prescott, AZ, Glen (Ike) of Phillipsburg, and Loren (Ann) of Phillipsburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.

John will be missed by a host of family and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be from Noon to 2 PM Saturday, September 23 at the Lighthouse Church in Downs. Cremation has taken place & there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund.
