Joice Alene Kimerer was born on October 30, 1931 to Herman Karl Wiese and Merle McLane Wiese in a rock house near Tipton. She died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Nicol Home in Glasco, Kansas at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 18 days.

She graduated from Hunter High School in 1949. On July 16, 1950, she was united in marriage with Gene Kimerer, the last couple to be married in the Blue Hill Church. They were privileged to spend nearly 59 years of marriage together until his death on July 4, 2009. Four children were born to this union: Kevin, Kim, Kody, and Kelly.

Gene and Joice loved to dance, and traveled many places together. They also enjoyed camping and fishing at the Waconda Lake. Joice could water ski, but coincidentally couldn't swim. She was also known for her great cooking, especially her fried chicken, and friends and family were always welcome for a meal. In her spare time, she also loved to garden and grow flowers. She was also an excellent seamstress and made all the kids clothes when they were younger. They were members of the Beloit Country Club, and were very active in the Elks Lodge. And she loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

For many years, Joice worked as the bookkeeper at Beloit Motor Company.

In addition to her husband Gene, she was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Kevin; her granddaughter, Samantha; and her sister, Lola Streit.

Joice is survived by her daughters, Kim Halderson and husband Dane of Delphos, and Kody Gentry and husband Rick of Abilene; her son, Kelly Kimerer and wife Gilletta of Beloit; son-in-law, Doug Deets of Manhattan; two sisters, Elaine Liddell of Manhattan and Lela Heiman of Beloit; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside memorial services will be at 10:30 am Friday, October 26 at Rounds Springs Cemetery near Hunter. Cremation has been chosen & there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Nicol Home.
