JonPaul Robert Hoel, the son of Robert Bernhard and Glora Estelle Bunch Hoel, was born January 29, 1961 in Concordia, Kansas. He was released from a long illness late Wednesday evening, June 4, 2008 at his home in Beloit, Kansas. He was 47 years of age.
"Jon" as he was known, grew up on a farm north of Randall and graduated from Jewell High School. He continued his education at the North Central Kansas Vocational Technical School where he studied Animal Husbandry and Agricultural Production.
On March 6, 1983, he married Jenelle Simpson, and to this union one daughter Julie was born. Jenelle died on July 2, 1986. On August 22, 1988, he married Monica Sue Esslinger and two children Briana and Rebecca were born. He and his family moved to Beloit in November, 2004.
Always a hard worker and happy-go-lucky person, Jon suffered a farm-related accident that left him disabled. Several years later, he suffered a massive heart attack that required a heart transplant. Determined not to give up, he refinished furniture and did extensive woodworking and craft projects. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed working in his garden and growing hot peppers. Leisure moments were happiest spent hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. He always loved little kids.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his beloved service dog Sam.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his wife Monica of the home; his mother Glora Hoel of Beloit; daughters Julie and Mark of Halstead, Briana and Shane of Concordia, Rebecca of the home; one sister Sheila McReynolds and husband Danny of Concordia; father-in-law Francis Esslinger and wife Marsha of Belleville; mother-in-law Patricia Moyer of Concordia; brother-in-law Travis Esslinger and wife Keri of Fayetteville, Arkansas; great nieces Carrie, Caden, Taley, and Tracer. He will also be deeply missed by a large host of many friends and relatives.
A Funeral Mass for JonPaul Robert Hoel, age 47 of Beloit will be celebrated at 2:30 P.M. Monday, June 9, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church by Father Joseph Kieffer officiating. Burial of the ashes will follow in St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or St. Luke's Hospital Heart Transplant Clinic.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A Parish Vigil & Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
