Joshua Jeremiah Jackson, 41, passed away March 6, 2025, at his parent's rural Glen Elder home surrounded by family. Joshua was born on June 30, 1983 the second child of James and Denise Jackson.

Joshua grew up on his family farm south of Glen Elder. He attended Kindergarten through junior high in Glen Elder then graduated from Waconda East High School in Cawker City in 2001. In his younger years he played summer baseball and was a member of the Pee Wee team that won state in 1994. In high school he golfed one year and did track the other three years. He played football and basketball all four years, but his favorite sport was basketball. His classmates have fond memories of his smile in the hallways and his caring personality. Joshua attended his freshman year of college at Cloud County Community College. He then transferred to Brown Mackie College in Salina where he graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Software Technology. His first job after college was for The Salina Journal. Joshua decided to go back to college at Kansas University and study literature and grammar which were his true passions. He continued to study on his own after he moved back to Glen Elder and was very well versed in both. Besides reading, he enjoyed gaming with friends, spending time in nature, and the companionship of his cats.

Joshua is survived by his parents James Alan and Denise Kay (Rotman) Jackson, sister Jerica (Tony) King of Beloit. Nephews Tegan King of Kansas City, KS, Truitt and Keller King of Beloit, Aunt Judy (Jack) Gracey of Cawker City, Uncle Monte Jackson of Glen Elder, Uncle Greg (Alice) Jackson of Bennington, Great Uncle William (Jayne)Brunnemer of Hideaway, TX, Great Aunt Kay Jackson, cousins Michelle (Eric) Minchow of Gretna, NE, Jeremy (Jennie) Jackson of Topeka, Megan (Charles) Miller of Kearney, MO, Sam (Cepie) Jackson of Bennington, and many more cousins and friends. Joshua is preceded in death by grandparents Sherman Jackson, Geneva (Homer) Jackson Porter, Harold and Katherine "Jean" Rotman.

Memorial services will be at 11 AM Saturday, March 22 at the First Methodist Church of Glen Elder. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or to the Sarah DePew Kidney Transplant/Medical Fund at Guaranty State Bank & Trust.
