Kandy Kaye Jordan died unexpectedly on February 19, 2013 in Beloit, KS. Kandy was born in Salina on May 13th, 1965
Kandy was the fourth of five children born to Murl and Carolynn Thrapp of Glasco, KS. She went to school in both Beloit and Glasco and moved on to her life's passion of raising her family. Kandy always had a special bond with each of her boys. She was their biggest fan.
Mark remembers Shelly showing him some tricks with writing letters with lighter fluid. He was so inspired; he and Mackenzie took it upon themselves to give it a try. Kandy used every cleaning product known to man to try to get that burn stain off the kitchen floor.
Tracy recalls surprising Kandy at Tavish's graduation for mother's day since he was living in Florida at the time. As soon as he walked in, Kandy saw him and broke down in tears. She was delighted and thought it was the best mother's day gift she could ask for.
Nothing made Kandy happier than spending time with her four grandchildren. She was one proud "Mimi". Her eyes lit up when she spoke about Brooklyn, Cameron, Jasten and Mark Jr. (MJ). She loved showing the grandkids the animals around the farm and playing in the yard.
As everyone knows Kandy loved taking care of others and filling up any belly that passed through her kitchen, whether it be at the Glasco nursing home, Good Company restaurant, the Beloit High School or taking meals out to Shelly in the field.
Her heart was solid gold and she found a great fondness for taking photos. Finding a picture with Kandy in it was difficult since she spent most of her time behind the lens, corralling everyone and saying "now everyone, smile!". Most recently, Kandy took up quilting. She was very proud of her finished projects and loved showing them off.
Kandy lived west of Beloit with her partner in life and love, Shelly File. Together they enjoyed visiting their children and "the simple life", raising chickens, gardening and cheering on their favorite teams.
Kandy is preceded in death by her sister, Judi Thrapp of Concordia, KS.
Kandy is survived by her sons Mark and Tracy Jordan and their families. Mark's family includes his wife Summer and their two children Cameron and Mark Jr. Mark and his family live in Beloit, KS.
