Karl Edwin Williams, 89, a lifelong farmer and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit. Karl lived a full and meaningful life rooted in the land he loved and the family he cherished.

Karl was born on February 9, 1932, in a farmhouse west of Beloit to Hamer and Emma Kunze Williams. He was one of five children and the youngest of the boys. Karl spent his entire life in Beloit area. He went to Solomon Valley country school and graduated from Solomon Rapids #14 School in 1953 where he enjoyed livestock judging and lead him to be active in 4H. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for 10 years before returning home to continue the work he loved most—farming. Farming was never just a job for Karl; it was his passion, his purpose, and his way of life.

On November 10, 1962 he married the love of his life, Sally Jones, and together they built a life grounded in hard work, laughter, and family. They were blessed with three children. Their first son, Curtis, lived only two precious days and was forever held in Karl’s heart. Karl took great pride in raising his family while working the land, often choosing to stay behind on the farm while his family took vacations, ensuring everything at home was cared for.

Karl truly enjoyed his years as a farmer and was especially proud to pass the farm on to his son and grandson, continuing the legacy of generations before him. He also looked forward each year to custom harvesting in Anthony, Kansas and Sydney Colorado. Outside of farming, Karl had many interests. He was an accomplished trap shooter, earning numerous awards over the years, and he had a lifelong love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles—always enjoying a good ride down the open road.

Anyone who knew Karl knew he was anything but quiet. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Karl loved telling stories and sharing memories, often holding the attention of anyone willing to listen. His warmth, humor, and gift for storytelling made friends wherever he went and left lasting impressions on all who crossed his path.

Karl is survived by his loving wife, Sally Williams of Beloit; his son, Brett Williams; and his daughter, Susan (John) Korber. He leaves behind grandchildren Amber (Garrett) Pounds, Dustin (Dani) Williams, and Kim (Danny) Korber, as well as his sister, Charlotte Swisher. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Louise, Richard, and David; his infant son Curtis; nephew Richard Kobel, and his grandson Joe Korber, who passed away in October of 2025.

Karl will be remembered for his strong work ethic, big personality, love of the land, and deep pride in his family. His stories, laughter, and legacy will live on through the fields he tended and the generations that follow.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 PM Friday, March 27 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM, with family present from 5-7 PM on Thursday, March 26 at the Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions can be made to the Beloit VFW #6242.
