Keith LeRoy Higle was born on September 26, 1962 in Concordia, Kansas, the son of Paul and LaVerna Liby Higle. He died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita at the age of 43 years, 3 months, and 5 days.
Keith grew up and graduated from Glasco High School, and was an area resident for most of his life.
He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing, and working on cars, and had a great love of sports – continuously following NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Kansas Jayhawks basketball teams. He also enjoyed spending his time socializing with friends and family, and working, whether it was for him, or for someone else.
Keith served on the volunteer fire department in Glasco, and spent more than 20 years employed by Sunflower Manufacturing in Beloit.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Cindy.
Keith is survived by his wife, Theresa of Jewell; three sons, Scott and his wife Star of Oxnard, California, and Paul and Ethan, both of Jewell; one brother, Tony and his wife Jerri of Glasco; three sisters, Glenda Stewart and her husband Cory of Wichita, Paula Jones and her husband Mark of Jamestown, and Kelli Darnall and her husband Todd of Glasco; one step-brother, Jeff Powell of Salina; one step-sister, Lori Powell and her husband Darrel of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Taylor; his grandparents, James and Phyllis Rountree of Glasco; one step-mother, Debbie Higle of Oklahoma; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, at the VFW Hall in Glasco, Kansas, with interment in Glasco Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Dean Funeral Home, 301 E. Main, Glasco, KS 667445. Memorial donations may be given to the Family Expense Fund.
