Kenneth B. White, Jr. was born on August 7, 1945, to Kenneth B. White and Katherine White. He was also welcomed by sisters, Patricia and Penny.
Ken or Kenny, as he was called by his classmates, graduated from Beloit High School with the class of 1963. He participated in sports all four years and received a scholarship to Hutchinson Ju-Co, which he attended for one year. After his college days ended, he joined the United States Marine Corp and proudly served for 12 years.
On Jan. 13, 1967, he married Jackie Moran. To this union two children were born; Lisa and Jeff. This marriage was later dissolved and Ken married Donna Hudson in May of 1981. To this union, Ken was united with step children, Peggy and Darrell. In 2002, Donna passed away. On February 14, 2003, Ken married Shareon Rehmert and gained two more step children, Jere Rehmert and Jennifer Feldkamp Boswell.
Ken was very proud of his law enforcement career of 32 years. He retired from the Ottawa County, KS Sheriff's department in January 2009 after 24 years as Sheriff. Ken enjoyed playing cards with friends, collecting coins and playing with the many dogs he had throughout his life. One of the highlights of Ken's career was when he was presented a commendation from President Clinton for saving two girls during the floods of 1993. Ken and Govenor Joan Finney flew to St. Louis, MO. for the presentation.
Ken is survived by his wife, Shareon, children Lisa, Jeff, Peg, Darrell, Jere and Jennifer and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and even 3 great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday, September 19 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-5 PM Thursday, & one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Kansas Sheriff's Association or Interim Hospice of Salina.
