Kenneth Wagner

September 3, 1941 — October 8, 2023

Downs

Kenneth Henry "Kenny" Wagner passed away on Sunday October 8,2023.  He was born to Leo and Loretta (Streit) Wagner on September 3,1941 near Tipton, Kansas.  Kenny was a lifelong resident of the Tipton and Downs areas.

Kenneth, the oldest of 10 children, was born to Leo and Loretta on a farm SE of Tipton, while living with Leo's parents.  As a youngster, he attended grade school at the High Prairie Rural school through the 8th grade.

Kenny worked for Kent manufacturing (later became Great Plains Manufacturing) for most of his life, retiring from the company in 2011.  During busy harvest times, he would help Raymond Mick with farming responsibilities while living on the Adams farm north of Tipton.  In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and many other hobbies.  After moving to Downs, he took on remodeling the house and expanding the kitchen, where he custom built all the new kitchen cabinets.  He also took up oil painting classes which included several canvas paintings that members of the family still enjoy.  He enjoyed this past time until his eyesight failed him to the point where he was unable to continue.   He was an avid Dale Earnhardt race fan. He never missed a NASCAR race and collected several pieces of memorabilia and die cast cars.  He enjoyed the Down's celebration every year, always getting a cheeseburger from the Lions Stand and visiting with friends and family he ran into. Kenny never knew a stranger.

He married Jeanette Reinert in 1971, and to this marriage were born 2 children: Chris and Kendra.   They later separated and he met and married Martha Walker Lindamood with whom he lived until the passing.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Leo (1969) and Loretta (2004) and one brother, Robert (Bobby) in 2015.   He is survived by his wife Martha of the home, a son Chris (Jody) of Wichita, Kansas, a daughter Kendra (Joe) McNaul of Rose Hill, Kansas, and a stepson Tom Lindamood (Amy) of Park City, Kansas, along with four grandsons; Bradly Wagner, Devin Wagner, Austyn Wagner, Jax McNaul, and granddaughter Emme McNaul. Great-granddaughter Nevach Wagner and soon to be great-grandson Oakley Wagner.  He also leaves five brothers, Harold (Christy)(Thornton, Colorado), Donald "Don" (Margie)(Olathe, KS) David (Barbara)(Basehor, KS), Raymond "Ray" (Lee Summit, MO), and Charles "Chuck"(Patty) (Woodland Park, Colorado): three sisters, Elieen Windholz (Alan)(Victoria, KS), Marilyn Jewell (Salem, MO) and Linda Tilton (Mike)(Monument, New Mexico) and many nieces and nephews.
