Larry Lyle Mcclintock

March 1, 1938 — December 16, 2011

Larry Lyle McClintock was born March 1, 1938 to Vernon Leroy and Mary Dott Melton McClintock at Beloit, Kansas. He departed this life of 73 years Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.

Larry graduated from Beloit High School.

On February 21, 1960 he was united in marriage to LaVaughn Faye Smith at Minneapolis, Kansas. Two children Lyndon and Kim were born to this happy union.

Larry loved farming and working with livestock on the family farm. Working the land, being in tune with creation and riding horses brought him great satisfaction.

Besides his work, Larry's greatest love was his family. He was always there for them and made them, and everyone he knew feel cherished and important. Larry made friends easily and had an uncanny knack for remembering their birthdays. He loved sports and took great pride in attending as many of the sporting events that his children and grandchildren were involved in. And, as his grandchildren grew, he delighted in teaching them how to drive.

Larry was a member of First United Methodist Church, Beloit, and served for many years on the USD #273 School Board and Eureka Township Board.

His parents, and two brothers Darrell and Vail McClintock preceded him in death.

Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his wife LaVaughn of the home; children Lyndon McClintock and wife Chris of Canyon, TX, Kim Cook and husband Greg of Salina; one brother Ronald McClintock of Salina; 4 beloved grandchildren Cassidy & Samantha Cook, Lance McClintock and Lauren Gruhlkey. Larry will be missed by many relatives and friends.

Larry chose cremation, and graveside services for the burial of his ashes will be held at 11:00AM Monday in Green Mound Cemetery near Asherville. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church.
