Laura came to the Beloit community in about 1971. She worked as a registered nurse at the Mitchell County Hospital for several years, and then was the founder of the Mitchell County Health Department. After many years, she became a traveling nurse and worked in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and also New York City and was working in a private hospital during the 911 attack.
