Lawrence Rogers

Lawrence Hugh Rogers was born March 6, 1927 to George and Bernece Benson Rogers at Glasco, Kansas and was released from rather lengthy illness Monday afternoon, January 17, 2011 at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis, Kansas. He was 87.
"Bo", as everyone knew him, spent his childhood years in Glasco where he graduated from high school. He married Shirley Lavy and two children Dirk and John were born to this union.
"Bo" spent a considerable amount of his life working for Boeing Aviation. He began his tenure with Boeing in Wichita and later moved to Seattle, Washington where he enjoyed working as a supervisor.
Shirley died in 1984 and following her death, he married Heide Chouinard Jollo. They returned to his hometown in 1989.
Bo enjoyed the basics of life. He enjoyed being outdoors and playing golf. He loved to cook, especially experimenting with meat and various ways to prepare roasts. Bo also enjoyed attending the Glasco Men's Club.
He was a member of the Catholic Church, attending St. Mary's in Glasco and Immaculate Conception in Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Shirley, and one brother Clarence Rogers.
Survivors are his wife Heide of the home, sons Dirk and John Rogers; stepchildren Linda Jollo, Patti Kirkpatrick both of Port Orchard, WA, Monica Berger, Ellensburg, WA, William Jollo, Tucson, AZ, Jeanne Jollo, Graham, WA, Ande Rogers, Ellsworth, KS; brothers Carroll Rogers, Dallas, TX, Rodney Rogers, Edwardsville, KS; sisters Delores Leinen, Texarkana,AR, Mary Lou Berndt, Glasco, Elizabeth Guiot and Deanna Bellows both of Wichita, and several grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 10:30 AM Friday, January 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glasco. Memorials may be given to Mt. Joseph's in Concordia or Donor's Choice.
