Lawrence (Trippy) Earl Tripp, 99, died Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Kidron Bethel nursing home, Newton, KS.

He was born March 3, 1925, at Algona, Iowa, the son of Lawrence Evert and Grace (Schreiber) Tripp. He was a 1943 graduate of Beloit High School. He enjoyed all sports and especially keeping the time clock at the home BHS football and basketball games for over 40 years. He worked for the Gas Service Co.

Trippy was a member of the Beloit Methodist Church. On August 7, 1950, he married Mary Ellen McKee, in Beloit.

Survivors include: his wife of 74 years, Mary Ellen, Newton; their children, Kerry Ackerman, Spearville, Gary (Pat) Tripp, Clearwater, and Kristin Mendenhall, Wichita; a sister-in-law, Vera Stage, St. Charles, MO; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two half-brothers, Victor Tripp and Robert Tripp; one half-sister, Judy Tripp; and a son-in-law, Steve Ackerman.

Memorial services will be Thursday, December 5, at 2 p.m., at the Roberts Family Funeral Home followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Cremation has taken place & there will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Community Care Hospice, 905 Cedars Drive, McPherson, KS 67460, or Beloit Methodist Church, 801 N. Bell St., Beloit, KS 67420, or in care of the funeral home.
