Leah Nicole Tompkins, the youngest daughter of Ronald Lynn and Candace Kaye Bronson Tompkins was born July 14, 1994 at Beloit, Kansas. She departed this life of 12 years, 10 months, and 28 days late Monday evening in a two vehicle accident near Concordia, Kansas.
Leah spent her entire life living in Beloit.
A happy, vibrant young lady, Leah loved the basics of life. She enjoyed baby sitting, riding her bike, swimming, and hanging out with her large group of friends. Leah loved listening to music and collecting angels. Always maintaining a positive attitude, she did not let adversity get in her way. Leah enjoyed following her older sister Agnes "Aggie" to all of her games and events; she was her older sister's greatest fan and supporter.
Leah had just completed her seventh grade year at Beloit Jr-Sr High School and was looking forward to her 8th grade year. She was a member of the Honor Choir, SADD, and KAYS.
She attended the First Christian Church Youth Group and the Vision Teen Center in Beloit.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her mother Candace "Candy" Tompkins of Beloit, her father Lynn Tompkins and wife Su of Smith Center; one sister Aggie Tompkins of the home; two step sisters Andra and Kelli; maternal grandparents Dennis and Janet Bronson of Stafford, Kansas; paternal grandmother Bernita Tompkins of Smith Center, and a host of many relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 18, 2007 at the First Christian Church with Pastors Tim Clever and Eric Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the BJSHS Music Department or the Teen Vision Center. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the McDonald Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed.
