Lee Wayne VanTilborg, age 72 of York, Nebraska passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 in York. He was born November 27, 1943 in Beloit Kansas. His parents were Kenneth and Hazel VanTilborg of Cawker City, Kansas.
After graduating from Cawker City High School, Lee worked in various occupations including house mover, oilfield pipe fitter, manufacturer of fiberglass products, caretaker for a church and an elementary school and later in life as a grocery store stocker. He was well traveled having lived in Kansas, South Dakota, North Dakota, Texas, and finally Nebraska. He thoroughly enjoyed life, his children, and his grandchildren. A stroke left him without the use of the right side of his body in 1999 but he never lost his sense of humor or his joy of having visitors. He remained under nursing home care, the majority of the time at York General Hearthstone where nurses and staff became an extension of his family from 1999 until his departure to be with his Heavenly Father.
Lee is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Dale & Nancy VanTilborg of Abilene, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law Lisa & Chris Lawrence of Magnolia,Texas; his son and daughter-in-law Thomas & Elizabeth VanTilborg of Chicago, Illinois; his daughter Desiree VanTilborg of Kansas City, Kansas; and his son and daughter-in-law
Jeffery & Courtney VanTilborg of Ravenwood,
Missouri. He is also survived by five grandchildren: granddaughters Bailee, Rylee, & Scarlett and grandsons Randy & Cedric. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carol.
Funeral Services will be at 1PM, Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Cawker City Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11AM until Service time at 1PM. Memorials may be given to the York General Hearthstone Nursing Home.
