Lenora Sharlene Nauman

August 13, 1942 — January 10, 2011

Lenora Sharlene (Mildfelt) Nauman, 68 of Glasco, KS (formerly of Manhattan, KS) died Monday January 10, 2011 after 10 month battle with lung cancer. Sharlene was born August 13, 1942 to Leonard (Babe) Mildfelt and Charlotte Riley. Sharlene attended Salina Central High School graduating in 1959. She married William Nauman on March 25, 1961. From this union a daughter was born, Brenda Nauman in March 1963. She worked at Consolidated Printing in Salina for many years and then KSU Printing Services in the mid 70's. Later, she traveled with William for many years helping him with his work. Sharlene moved from Manhattan to Glasco with William in 1998.

Sharlene was a K-State and KU basketball fan and loved watching the games on television. In her high school years she began painting and drawing and one of her painting is lovingly displayed in the Nauman home. Sharlene loved camping and fishing at Wilson and Bennington State Lakes with family and friends. She had the skill for filleting any fish that was caught. Sharlene had several nicknames, among them Sis or Aunt Sis, but never used first name Lenora. Many times when she was referred to as Lenora, no one had a clue who they were talking about. After moving to Glasco in 1998, she enjoyed family and friends stopping by the house for Friday night camaraderie where many fishing tales were told.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Nauman, her parents, brothers Jack Mildfelt and Leonard Mildfelt, and stepfather Marvin Thornburg.

Those left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are daughter Brenda of Manhattan, niece Debbie Mildfelt and nephew Jack Mildfelt of Salina, niece Sheryl Barleen of Arlington, VA, nephew Steve Naumann and wife Jennifer of Glasco, niece Wendy Walker of Beloit, In addition, Sharlene will be missed by a host of great nieces, nephews, and many friends.
