Leone Bryant

Edna "Leone" Bryant was born on August 15, 1929 in Kiowa County, Kansas, the daughter of Marion and Opal Campbell Harris. She died early Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit at the age of 89.

Following her high school graduation, Leone went on to college, where she earned her teacher's certificate. She taught in Olathe, Lawrence, and Burlington. She later worked for many years for Wichers Photography in Beloit.

On August 21, 1951, she was united in marriage with Billy Bryant at the Haviland Methodist Church, and one daughter and one son were born to this union. They were privileged to spend more than 60 years of married life together until his death in February, 2010.

Leone was a faithful and active member of the Beloit First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Leone is survived by her daughter, Rene and husband John Holmes of Olathe; her son, Ward Bryant of Joplin, MO; grandchildren, Daniel Holmes, David Holmes, Morgan Bryant, and Alex Bryant; great-grandchildren, Carolyn Holmes, Clara Holmes, and Annie England; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 23 at the Beloit First United Methodist Church. Cremation has taken place & there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Church.
