Leroy F. Schuster

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Leroy Francis Schuster, 84 of Beloit, KS went home to his Father on Thursday, November 1, 2012.
Lee, the son of Leo and Bernice Schuster was born on October 3rd, 1928 in Denver, Colo. He was the second oldest of five children. Lee was a graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School in Denver. He was inducted into the United States Marine Corps on May 19th, 1952. Lee spent one year in Korea and received a Bronze Star United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on May 19th, 1954.
Lee was united in marriage to Estelle Marie Hake of Tipton, KS. on December 30th, 1953. This union was blessed with six children. Lee and Estelle spent their first two years of marriage in Chicago, IL, where he attended DeVry and Greer Technical colleges. They returned to Tipton, KS for ten years and then moved to Beloit, KS, where he owned The Beloit Appliance Center for thirty years.
Lee will be remembered as a devoted husband and father. He loved the many years he spent entertaining his children and grandchildren at the lake. Lee's life was full of activity and his hobbies included gardening, woodworking, and antiquing. He took great pride in his home, yard and volunteer work at St. John's Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Bernice Schuster, Brother Ray Schuster, father and mother- in- law Ted and Pauline Hake, sisters in law Mary Ellen Bongiovianni and Marcella Hake, brother- in- law Ed Koenigsman and nephew Leo Schuster.
Survivors include his wife of fifty eight years Estelle, children Roger and Jennifer Schuster, Jim and Anna Schuster, Bob and Dixie Schuster, John and Joan Schuster, Linda (Schuster) Reed, Matt and Deanna (Schuster) Fulghum, twenty two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Other family members include Leo and Rosemary Schuster, Bruce and Jane Schuster, Bay and Arlene (Schuster) Young, Janine Schuster, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, November 5 at St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit. A parish rosary service will be at 7:00 PM Sunday at the church. Visitation will be from 1:00-4:00 PM Sunday at the McDonald Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Cornerstone Foundation or Solomon Valley Hospice.
