Linda Lee Gormly was born May 9, 1949 to Caccie
Carl and Pansy Marie Motes Ullom in Beloit, Kansas. She departed this life of 64 years, 9 months and 26 days Friday evening at her home.
Linda spent her early years on the farm with her family. She was always in the kitchen with her mother cooking.
On February 12, 1966, Linda was united in marriage to John Monroe Gormly in Beloit, Kansas. This union was blessed with two children, John Jr. and Karen Lee.
Linda and her family lived in Beloit, on a farm, she worked at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit for many years as a housekeeper and nurses aide.
Linda's life centered around taking care of her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was never too busy to attend to their needs. Most of all, being with her family and cooking for them brought her the most joy in life; she loved going to yard sales and putting puzzles together.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Monroe Gormly, mother Pansy Ullom, two nephews and one niece.
Linda's death has left a void that will never be filled. Those mourning her passing and celebrating her life are her children John Jr of Beloit and Karen of Beloit; father Caccie Ullom; three brothers Lester Ullom and wife Theresa of Beloit, Larry Ullom of Ionia, Leo Ullom of Beloit; two sisters Lois Wallace of Beloit, Leanna Ptacek and husband Steve of Minneapolis; two grandchildren Hollie Smith and husband Tommy of Waco, TX, Summer Gormly of Beloit; two great grandchildren Safyre and Tommy Smith; a host of many relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with burial in the West Asher Cemetery near Scottsville. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
