Linda Louise Hill was born on August 10, 1950 in Smith Center, Kansas, the daughter of Alfred and Agnes Robb Patten. She died on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 64 years and 2 days.
She grew up and attended school in Smith Center, and graduated from Washburn High School in Topeka in 1968.
While in Topeka, she met Dewayne Hill, and they were later married at Forbes Air Force Base on October 18, 1969.
Following their marriage, they moved and lived in several places including Mississippi, New Orleans, Denver, and Alaska.
In March 2013, she moved to Beloit to be closer to her family.
Linda was very interested and licensed in ham radio, and spent much of her spare time cross stitching, crocheting, and camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dewayne in 2012; two sisters, Betty St. Clair and Dorothy Schrader; and one brother, Leroy Patten.
Linda is survived by a daughter, Barbara Paeth and her husband John, and their daughters, Christine, Murron, and Emily, of Kansas City; two sisters, Phyllis Dey of Superior, Nebraska, and Marjorie Kugler of Red Cloud, Nebraska; two special nieces, Brenda Garman-Stewart of Beloit, and Mary Rickley of Salina; special friends Ed (Coon) Pickel and Verlee Russell of Beloit; and a host of family and friends.
Graveside memorial services will be at 4 PM Saturday, August 16 at the Fairview Cemetery in Smith Center. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or do a random act of kindness for a stranger. Cremation was chosen, and there will be no visitation.
