Linda Sue Mcclintock

January 6, 1947 — July 22, 2011

Linda Sue McClintock was born the first of seven children to Vernice L. and Martha L. (Peggy) Strait McClintock on January 6, 1947 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, KS. After a long battle with illness she entered into peace and eternal rest on July 22, 2011 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, KS.

Linda grew up on a farm southwest of Asherville, KS and attended her first six years of school at Coursen Grove country school until it closed. She then attended Simpson Grade School and Simpson High School, where she graduated in the top of her class in 1966 (the last class graduating from Simpson). Along with her family, Linda moved to Beloit in the summer of 1966 where she became employed by the Mitchell County Hospital as a cook until a back injury forced her to resign her position.

Linda was baptized in October, 1991 and she became a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Linda was able to enjoy her home in Beloit until 2006, when health issues made it necessary for her to enter Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Beloit. While there, she made many friends and was always eager to help them.

Family was very important to Linda, as she loved hearing about all the nieces and nephews, while giving her support and encouragement to all family members in all their challenges and endeavors. Nothing was more important than family reunions.

Watching sports on TV and listening to music provided many hours of entertainment for her. She also enjoyed knitting and made numerous baby blankets and afghans for family and friends.

Linda, a very loving and compassionate person, will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Vernice L. McClintock, and her grandparents Dolphos and Jessie (Fisher) Strait, and Harry and Pearl (Benson) McClintock.

She is survived by her mother Martha L. (Peggy) McClintock, sisters Joyce Littrell & husband Lloyd, Debbie Walters & husband Dean, Kristi Cox & husband Doug all of Beloit, KS; brothers Harry McClintock & wife Joan of Clay Center, KS, Randy McClintock & wife Paulette of Beloit, KS, and Karl McClintock & wife Janice of Beatrice, NE and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the McDonald Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Kerr officiating. Burial of her ashes will be in the Green Mound Cemetery near Asherville. Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Foundation or Zion Lutheran Church. Her request for cremation has been honored & there will be no visitation.
