Lois Blass

January 16, 1934 — March 7, 2023

Beloit

Lois Ann (Claycamp) Blass was born the eldest of six children to Emil and Inez (Diers) Claycamp on January 16, 1934 in Hunter, Kansas. She passed peacefully at her home on March 7, 2023 at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 19 days. She was looking forward to joining her husband, children, and other family members in God's kingdom.

On November 18, 1950 she was united in marriage with Jim Blass. Seven children were born to this union, Terry, Pat, Mike, Brenda, Barb, Joe, and George.

Lois always worked outside the home, as well as being a dedicated wife and mother. Lois was a friend to everyone. She was very patient with lots of good advice.

She was the glue that held the family together. She made sure that her family would eat, play, and laugh together. Lois loved getting the family together for reunions. She always made sure there was plenty of good food, as she was an excellent cook.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Blass; her parents, Emil and Inez Claycamp; her siblings, Kathy Rines, Wilbur Claycamp, Louella Brunner, and Darrell Claycamp; daughter, Pat Weidenhaft; son, George Blass; grandson, Tanner Blass; and infant granddaughter Mulder.

Lois is survived by her loving children, Terry (Dan) Mulder of Phillipsburg, son-in-law, Joe Weidenhaft of Stockton, Mike (Chris) Blass of Beloit, Brenda (Jim) Tietjens of Glen Elder, Barb (Bob) Broughton of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Joe (Von) Blass of Santee, California; sister, Leota (Bill) McCarthy of Manhattan; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She would want this as a celebration of her life, not sorrow for her death.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday, March 17 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-7 PM with family present from 5-7 PM Thursday, March 16 at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed. Memorials may be given to the Mitchell County Food Pantry or the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
