Lorelei Lindblad

Lorelei was born on March 24, 1942 in Hebron, Nebraska to Howard G. and Ina Mae Reed. She was the oldest of five Reed kids.

Elementary schools she attended were n Chester, Nebraska and two country schools. She attended Belleville, Kansas High School, and college and nurse's training at St. Elizabeth's in Lincoln, Nebraska.

It was in Nebraska she met Raydell (Lindy) Lindblad, and they were married in Belleville, and lived there for a time. They later moved to Concordia, and finally to Beloit.

While living in Belleville and Concordia, she was a nurse at the clinic of Dr. Cheney and Dr. Doubek. When Linday was offered a job opportunity, she quit work and they moved to Beloit. Later, after her children had gone to college, she went back to work as a para professional in the special ed department at USD 273. She remained at that position until retirement in the 1990's.

Lori and Lindy have two sons, Bradley and wife Susan, and Brent and wife Esther; grandchildren, six boys and two girls; and six great-grandchildren, five of them boys.

Lori and Lindy spent many hours watching their grandkids grow up and take part in many school activities. There were over 23 state tournaments and state meets, not counting games leading up to those events. Lori said we can find our way to many basketball gyms, football fields, golf courses, and track areas in Nebraska from Scottsbluff to Omaha.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Howard E. Reed. She is survived by husband, Lindy of the home; sons, Brad and Susan, and Brent and Esther, both of Hastings, Nebraska; grandchildren, John, Keeley, Micah, Jessica, Sam, Evan, Nick, and Makenna, who all attended Adams Central Schools in Hastings; sisters, Ramona Early of Beloit, Nancy Ray of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Jane Jeardoe of Belleville; brother-in-law, Marvin Early of Beloit; sisters-in-law, Gaynell Delay of Courtland and Beth Reed of Belleville; and a host of relatives and friends.

Lori loved the Lord, and her family. Her other likes included basketball, football, golf, track, cross country, and maybe just a little wrestling. Season tickets at Husker football games for several years were a great joy.

Memorial services will be at 2 PM Friday, May 19 at the Beloit First Christian Church. Friends may sign the register book from 9 AM to 5 PM Thursday, May 18 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place & there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Church.
