Loretta Evans

Loretta June (Murphy) Evans was born on January 5, 1938 in Covert, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Laura Winder Murphy. She died on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Osborne County Memorial Hospital in Osborne, Kansas at the age of 86.

Loretta grew up on the family farm in Covert, and later graduated from Waldo High School in Waldo, Kansas in May 1956. After graduation, she married Benny Evans, and moved to a farm in Luray, Kansas to raise and care for her family.

She loved to fish and play cards, but most of all, she loved caring for her children and grandchildren in later years.

Loretta will be remembered by her beloved children, Dave Evans, Bradley Evans, and Sharry Marr; as well as grandchildren, Rocky Evans, Michele Snodgrass, Kristine Evans, and Tyler Marr; great-grandchildren, Dalton Evans, Sophia Evans, Riley Snodgrass, Gage Seifried, and Hunter Seifried; and sisters, Betty Schremmer and Marilyn Wilson. Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness, even when sick or in pain, she never faltered in caring for her loved ones more than she did herself.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday, December 27 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home followed by burial in the Scottsville Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service. Memorials may be given to the Scottsville Community Church.
