Lottie Louise Judd-Pruitt-Chard-Gregg, age 96 of Beloit, Kansas, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Resident Care Center. She was born Lottie L. Judd on July 19, 1923 in Madison Township, Lincoln County, Kansas to Lloyd H. Judd and Renna Musselman Judd. She attended grade school at Freedom Country School, and she went to Beverly Rural High School, graduating in 1941.
On August 9, 1942, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Pruitt of Barnard, KS, at Sylvan Grove, KS. Two sons were born to this union, Douglas Scott and Jan Milton. The family lived on the Wear Ranch for 20 years. In 1966, they built a new home in Lincoln, KS and moved there. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, she drove a school bus and helped in homes for several years.
In early years, she was a member of the Scottsville Presbyterian Church, where she accepted Christ, and later joined the Baptist Church in Barnard, KS, where she was an active member for many years.
On July 26, 1975, she was united in marriage to Olan Chard and moved to Spring Hill, KS. There she worked at the nursing home for 10 years. She also took up cleaning houses, which she did for many years. She loved helping others. She and Olan spent over 18 years going to Yuma, AZ for the winter in their motor home. They belonged to two motor home clubs, and were very active members. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Spring Hill. Olan passed away in November, 1996. In August 2001, she was united in marriage with Homer Gregg of Paola, KS. They became members of the Ochiltree Baptist Church. They were active in the Young at Heart Group at the church.
Lottie and Homer made many trips to Yuma for the winter. In the spring of 2014, Homer passed away. After which her sons helped her moved to Beloit, KS. There she lived her remaining years enjoying the company of all her family and new friends at Long Term Care at the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems.
Lottie loved her church and helped and attended all she could. She always said what would we do without our church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; half-brother; and half-sister.
Survivors are her two sons, Doug and his wife Roxy Stock Pruitt of Beloit, and Jan Pruitt of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three grandsons, Jeremy, Jordan, and Jaron Pruitt; several nieces and nephews; some step-sons and step-grandchildren; and a great grandchild, Lakin Pruitt.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, January 27 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home followed by burial in Saltville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Sunday, January 26 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lottie Judd-Gregg Memorial Fund.
