Luella M. Eberle

November 15, 1933 — February 15, 2007

Luella Maud Eberle, age 73 of Glen Elder, died Thursday evening, February 15, 2007 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.
She was born November 15, 1933 on a farm near Plainville, Kansas, the daughter of Roy J. and Molly Myrtle Burger Gilbert. She attended school at Plainville.
On July 2, 1950, she married Wayne K. Wickham, and to this union were born two daughters Valerie J. and Krystal K. This union was later dissolved. On August 2, 1980, she married Charles N. Eberle and he survives of the home.
A kind and compassionate caregiver, Luella worked as a nurses aide at Plainville Rural Hospital for eighteen years and then at Hilltop Lodge and Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit for several years until retiring because of health reasons. Perhaps her greatest joy was taking care of babies.
Luella was very devoted to her family. She cherished every opportunity she had to be with them and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her family, Luella enjoyed watching television along with expressing her deep love of country & western music and was a classic Alan Jackson fan. She also enjoyed being around llamas, caring for them, and going to llama shows.
She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Plainville.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Alberta Rae Wickham, a step son Steven C. Eberle, and three brothers Marvin, Hilton, and Arden Gilbert.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her husband Charles N. Eberle of the home; one brother Jack D. Gilbert and wife Linda of Plainville; two daughters Valerie J. Thrasher and husband Pat of Salina, Kansas, Krystal K. Schwenn and husband Larry of Kensington, Kansas; two step daughters Dana Madden and husband Barry, Kelly Lyon and husband Kevin all of Norton, Kansas, one step son Kurtis Eberle and wife Lisa of Norton, Kansas; two grandsons, five step grandsons; three step granddaughters, nine great grandchildren, along with many relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. in the Plainville Cemetery at Plainville. Memorials may be given to the Rooks County Hospital, Plainville or the Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit, or the Glen Elder Senior Center. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M, Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
