Margaret Stilwell Kennedy, the daughter of Clyde and Bessie Moore Stilwell, was born August 24, 1920, at Los Angeles, California. She died March 29, 2008, at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas, at the age of 87 years, seven months and five days.
Margaret grew up in Southern California and graduated from Laurelwood Academy in Oregon. She later received training as a nurse and radiology technician. She worked as an office nurse in Orange, California for many years.
Margaret was united in marriage with Halden Kennedy on November 17, 1950, and three daughters were born to that union. After Halden's death in 1981, Margaret moved to Beloit to make her home.
Margaret was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was very family oriented toward her own children and grandchildren and was a favorite aunt and second mom and grandma to many other family members.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Robert Cossentine of Mission Viejo, California, and Elyse and Randy File of Enterprise, Kansas; six grand-children, Wade Webb, Jake Webb, Amanda Ireland and husband, Billy, Halden Webb, Mallory File and Fiancé, Jay Horn and Alex File; a son-in-law, Greg Matney; and nieces and nephews including Don and Betty Melton, Bob and Bev Konzem and Dale and Kathy Konzem and their families; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Linda Matney.
Private family services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the American Liver Foundation. McDonald-Roberts Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
