Margaret Louise Sporleder was born September 17, 1942 to Allen Winston and Esther Altergott McCorkle at Beloit, Kansas. She departed this life of 73 years Saturday evening, March 5, 2016 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.
A lifelong resident of the Beloit community, Margaret was a hard worker. She worked at various places including the Beloit Youth Center, Western Auto, Mitchell County Hospital and the Banner Restaurant.
It was on September 17, 1959, she married William Cecil Sporleder at Beloit, Kansas and to this union five children Cecil, Jodie, Jeannie, Jesse, and Pete were born.
Margaret loved kids and people. She had a day care center in her home for several years and enjoyed caring for children. She enjoyed her various jobs and would help anyone in need. Her leisure moments were happiest spent being with her grandchildren and attending their activities and attending family gatherings. She loved music and enjoyed listening to her favorite polka and country selections.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, two sons William Cecil Sporleder, Jr. and Jesse Sporleder and two brothers Arthur and Danny McCorkle.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her husband William Cecil Sporleder Sr. of the home; children Jodie Norberg and husband Mark of Lindsborg, Jeannie Downing and husband John of McPherson, and Pete Sporleder of the home; one brother David McCorkle of Wichita; three sisters Esther McKinley and husband Larry of Glade, KS, Josephine Melroy of Ravenna, NE, and Beverly Kindler and husband Robert of Alma; 9 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the McDonald Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Summer Kids Café. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
