Glasco

Marilyn "Jean" Darnall was born April 20, 1935 to Leo and Eloris Salisbury Fox in Lexington, Nebraska. She departed this life on December 5, 2024 at the Nicol Home in Glasco, Kansas.

Jean grew up on the family farm in Smithfield, Nebraska. She graduated from Elwood High School in 1953. After high school she moved to Denver, Colorado and worked at a bank.

It was on June 20, 1955 that she married her high school sweetheart Clark Dean Darnall. Three sons Scott, Mark, and Todd were born to this happy union.

On May 19, 1956, she and Clark moved to Glasco, Kansas where they called home for the rest of their years.  Jean was the City Clerk for the City of Glasco for 39 years retiring in 2006. She truly enjoyed her job and the citizens of Glasco.

Jean's greatest love was her family. She delighted in sewing and quilting. Many personalized quilts were gifted to her family over the years. She liked to play cards with her friends and enjoyed reading, as well.  She always looked forward to all of the holidays. She loved having the family there and would have her house decorated meticulously for each and every holiday. She especially loved Christmas and had a huge collection of Santa Claus and Snowmen decorations.

She was devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glasco.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clark, son Todd Darnall, and granddaughter Chelsi Darnall.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her sons Scott Darnall of Glasco and Mark and wife Regina Darnall of Hays; one brother Doug Fox of Carlisle, PA; one sister Barb "Bob" and Hank of Loveland CO; one sister-in-law, Norma Darnall of Farnam, NE; 8 grandchildren Brandon (Jaime) Darnall, Kayla (Bryce) Lange, Austin Darnall, Aubrey Darnall, Dan (Jillian) Darnall, Eric (Lisa) Darnall, Kelsey Darnall, and Laura (Cole) Clarkson; 19 great-grandchildren; many relatives and friends.
