Marilyn Roberta Lindberg Harwood was born April 7, 1928 in Topeka, KS to Bertha Marie Hanquist Lindberg and Robert Theodore Lindberg. She quietly left to be with our Savior on October 12, 2012, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Marilyn graduated from Topeka High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Kansas. Her career began at the Park View Drug Company in Topeka.
On June 3rd, 1951, Marilyn was united in marriage to Claude Harwood at the West Side Baptist Church in Topeka. She worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City until they moved to Glasco in 1956 where she helped establish the Glasco Medical Clinic and provided relief pharmacy services to several area drug stores. Among the more enjoyable of Marilyn's many activities in life was teaching Sunday School and playing the organ at the Glasco Christian Church for over 40 years. She was on the Glasco city council and served one term as Mayor. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Nicol Home in Glasco, the Cloud County Community College and ten years on the Kansas State Board of Education.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Dr. Claude Harwood, son Larry Harwood, daughter Susan and husband Jim Campion, grandchildren Kylee and Garrett Campion, step-grandchildren Kevin Campion and Cara (Eric) Payne and family.
Memorial services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, October 17 at the Glasco Christian Church. There will be no visitation - cremation has taken place.
