Marjie Jean Frasier was born on May 28, 1937 in Smith County, Kansas, near Dispatch, the daughter of Wayne and Margeret Boxum Miller. She died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 72 years, 7 months, and 5 days.
Jean, as she was known, grew up on the farm and attended the Oak Creek Country School before attending and graduating from Downs High School in 1955.
On May 10, 1956, she was united in marriage to Raymond M. Frasier at the Dispatch Christian Reformed Church. Three sons were born to this union of more than 53 years.
Jean helped Ray at the station for many years, and served as a caregiver for her son, Raymond Jay for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and their sports activities. She was a member of the Dispatch Christian Reformed Church.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Raymond Jay on July 26, 1990.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond of the home; two sons, Dale of Cawker City, and Bryan and his wife Joni of Cawker City; four brothers, Melvin Miller and his wife Donetta of Downs, Marvin and his wife Carolyn and Eldon, all of Cawker City, and Darrell and his wife Gail of Mankato; two sisters, Joline Miller and Norma June Miller, both of Cawker City; five grandchildren, Deedre, Shane and wife Sara, Ian and wife Jaqui, Cory, and Dylan; one great grandchild, Kaden; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Dispatch Christian Reformed Church with burial at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cawker City. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the church Memorials may be given to the Mitchell County Hospital Foundation.
