Marjorie Louise "Roberts" Dudley was born in Cawker City, Kansas on September 10, 1922, and died November 25, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Downs, Kansas. She was the daughter of Joseph Roberts and Emma "Moxter" Roberts.
Marjorie was the youngest of a family of nine children. She graduated from Cawker City High School with the class of 1940, and married Max Robert Dudley on September 21, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 21, 1991.
She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and an active volunteer in her community.
Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters for making a fun, creative home environment, and was always an inspiration to them.
Surviving family members include a sister, Dorothy Hinkhouse of Stockton, Kansas; daughters Gwen and husband Gary Davis of Osborne, Pamela and Blaine Bickel of Leawood, Margo and Herman Smith of Frederick, Maryland, Debra Dudley and Jim Byrum of Council Grove; 6 grandchildren, Greg and Brad Davis, Steve Duffendack and wife Alisa Dodds, Bryant Bickel, Brian and Jessica Smith; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, December 5, at the Cawker City Baptist Church. Memorials may be given to the church or Solomon Valley Hospice. There will be no visitation.
