Beloit

Marjorie Jean Ludwig was brought into the world on November 19, 1925 in Jewell County, KS at the home of her parents Gail and Irene (Hogan) Jones. Jean lived in Jewell County until the age of 8 when the family moved to Oak, Nebraska. Jean shared many stories of how the family endured hard times during the dirty thirties. Faith, hope, and endurance were qualities that allowed Jean to be resilient and positive throughout her life.

Jean attended Nelson High School and graduated with the class of 1944. She married Rusty Flower following graduation. Shortly thereafter, Rusty died in the Armed Services. Jean moved to Beloit to begin a new chapter of her life. While working in Beloit, she met the love of her life Bob and they were united in marriage at St John's the Baptist Church on November 23, 1953. This union was blessed with 5 children. Ann, Linda, Joe, Mary and Robert Scott.

Jean loved shopping trips with the girls, dancing with Bob, attending football games for the boys, and hosting Sunday dinner for friends and family alike. Jean was active in 4-H, a member of the St John's the Baptist Catholic Church of Beloit, St John's Ladies Guild, and a beloved room mother. Jean loved the beauty of fresh flowers in her yard, a new baby in the house, and took great pride in their Hereford cattle.

Jean was admired for her humble nature, selflessness, kind heart, and faithful friendships.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Irene Jones, husbands Rusty Flower and Bob Ludwig, sister, Venda Reling (Vernie), and a brother, John Richard (Arlene) Jones.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Ann and Linda Ludwig of Beloit, Joe (Pat) Ludwig of Beloit, Mary (Andy) Beikman of St. Francis, Robert Scott (Tina) of Sterling; eight grandchildren, Jacob (Lauren), Kimberly (Chris), Garret (Nikki), Megan (Jaime), Kendall (Stratton), Robert (Naomi), Mariah (Brock), and Martin; ten great grandchildren, Scarlett, Bella, Brecken, Kentri, Kate, Brody, Ali, Sutton, Linley, and Brindle; and one sister-in-law Rachel Moritz and many nieces and nephews.
