Marlene Fae (Schettler) Dalrymple, age 79, died Monday, February 21, 2022 at her home in Cawker City, Kansas. She was born July 4, 1942, in Richardton, North Dakota, to John and Agatha Schettler. Marlene was the fifth of six children. She attended school in Halliday, North Dakota and graduated in 1960.
Marlene married Joseph Senger, January 2, 1962, in Manning, North Dakota. They had four sons: Joseph Jr. (Joe), John, Jerald (Jerry), and Jay.
In 1974, Marlene married Jerry Dalrymple in Jewell, Kansas. Together, along with Marlene's sons, they traveled across many states working on a custom harvesting crew.
In 2004, Marlene married Roger Ives in Beloit, Kansas. They moved to Bismarck, North Dakota for several years, so Marlene could be close to her siblings and family. In 2018, they moved to Cawker City, Kansas to enjoy her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marlene loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending many of their sporting events, teaching them how to play cards, doing puzzles and cooking. She made the best caramel rolls ever! Marlene had a wonderful laugh that would brighten any room. She loved playing cribbage, pinochle and pitch with all of her family and friends at get togethers, especially with her sons.
Marlene was a member of the Beloit VFW Auxiliary and the Glen Elder Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agatha Schettler, sister Kay and brother-in-law Don Voigt, brother Delbert and sister-in-law Katherine (Kay) Schettler, and brother-in-law Donald Sorensen.
Marlene is lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger Ives, Children: Joe (Jerri) Senger, John (Tina) Senger, Jerry (Carla) Senger and Jay Senger, Connie Ives and Tina (Terry) Malek. Grandchildren: Sierra Senger and Nathan Saint, Shelby Senger, Brittney (Andy) Miller, Jake Senger, Lindsay (Erin) Mellies, Nicolas (Catie) Mellies and Tucker Senger. Great Grandchildren: Anthony Enneking, Kinley Miller, Rory and Ella Mellies, Trey and Walker Mellies. Sisters: Jacqueline Sorensen and Carole (Louis) Treiber. Brother: Jerry (Anne) Schettler. She will be lovingly remembered by many devoted nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at Roberts Family Funeral Service, 910 N. Campbell, Beloit, Kansas on Saturday, February 26 th , 2022. Family will greet friends at 9 a.m. with service starting at 10 a.m. Pastor Cody Fears officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to be designated at a later date may be made to the family in care of Joe Senger, P.O. Box 3, Glen Elder, Kansas 67446.
