Martha Lumb, 73 of Randall, passed from this life Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.

She was born Martha Jean Clawson on October 9, 1937 in Beloit to Ralph Ray and Beulah Marguerette (Hutchens) Clawson. She was raised in Randall where she graduated from high school in 1955. She was preceded in death by her husband James Gary Lumb.

Martha is survived by her children Bret Ferguson and wife June of Salina, Melanie Griffeth and husband Bill of Jewell, Lisa Pattison and husband John of San Antonio, Texas, Jill Evans and husband Kirk of Manhattan, foster daughter Judith Lee of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren Eric Griffeth, Jessika Evans, Alexia Evans, Graycn Evans, Grant Pattison, Lindsay Pattison; two sisters Pat McMurray and husband Gerald of Jewell, Dawna Green and partner Dan Sullivan of Randall, one sister-in-law Leota Clawson of Randall, niece Lori Howell and husband Steve of Jewell. She also is survived by several great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Martha was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi. She was also active in the Red Hat Society and the Randall Senior Citizens. She and her husband Gary had the privilege of sharing their home with 26 foster children while residing in Herington. Martha dedicated her time to Randall as a City Council Member and worked tirelessly to improve the Randall Cemetery. During the course of her life, Martha lived in many locations and had many career choices. Her favorite place to live was in Bryan, Texas and her favorite occupation was as a pharmacy technician.

Martha was also preceded in death by her brother Jim Clawson, infant siblings Dalphine Joyce and Jack Ray Clawson; nephew Lonnie Clawson; and nieces Sabrina Green Wright and Janie McMurray.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Randall Church with Pastors Dan Daniels and Jim Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Randall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Randall Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 AM until 8 PM Thursday at the McDonald Funeral Home.
