Marva J. Lange, 83, retired Language Arts teacher, died Thursday May 7, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Zella Lange and one sister, Dorothy Lange.
She was born December 3, 1925, in Mitchell County and grew up on the family farm south of Simpson. She graduated in a class of five from Simpson High School and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Fort Hays State College.
Marva began her teaching career in Greensburg and ultimately came to Wichita to teach at Wichita High School West; she was later part of the staff which opened Wichita High School Northwest and retired from Northwest.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 12 at Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday at McDonald Funeral Home in Beloit. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or the Simpson Community Church.
