Mary Eloise Wadick was born August 11, 1924 to John Charles and Marie Henrietta Heidrick Gering at Kansas City, Missouri. Surrounded by her loving family, she peacefully departed this life of 85 years, 5 months and 10 days late Thursday evening, January 21, 2010 at her home in Beloit, Kansas.
Eloise, as everyone knew her, graduated from St. John's High School in the Class of 1943. She loved music and took voice lessons from the late Georgia Tice. She worked in the rationing division of the Mitchell County OPA as a secretary and clerk and later the Concordia Rent Control Office.
On June 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to Thomas Warren Wadick at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Beloit, Kansas. Three children Charles, James, and Mary were born to this happy union.
Eloise devoted her life to her family. Besides raising three children in a loving Catholic home, she worked at the Beloit Youth Center and also the former JM McDonald Clothing Store. Her love of music was shared with her family and especially enjoyed dancing with her husband. She loved homemaking, cooking her children's favorite dishes, and looked forward to their visits and visiting them in their homes as well. Eloise enjoyed playing pinochle. And, as her parents aged, she was there for them.
Eloise was a faithful and devout member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was deeply devoted to the Blessed Virgin. She enjoyed singing in the choir, often solos from time to time, her favorites being Ave Maria and Silent Night; she was an active member of the St. John's Ladies Guild.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Edward Charles Gering, and one brother in law Richard Fulcher.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her husband Thomas of Beloit; three children Charles Wadick of Easley, South Carolina, James Wadick and wife Debbie of Eldorado, Kansas, Mary Wadick of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters-in-law Shirley Gering of Brighton, Colorado, Theresa Fulcher of Chattanooga, Tennessee, one grandchild Katie Marie Wadick of El Dorado, Kansas, and a host of many friends.
Jesus, I trust in you
