Mary Christine (Chris) Miller of Beloit, Kansas, passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 74. She was born on July 3, 1951, in Embudo, New Mexico, the daughter of King Farrar Kennedy and Mary Kennedy. She graduated from Wichita Heights High School with the Class of 1969. After high school, she attended Wichita State University and later transferred to Kansas State University, graduating in 1974 with a degree in Family Economics. This is where she met her husband, Kent Miller.
Kent and Chris were married on August 24, 1974, in Manhattan, Kansas. This union of 51 years brought three children: Jennifer (Sherlock) Ewing of Abilene, TX; Jessica (Cody) Goforth of Lyons, KS; and Zach (Sam) Miller of Tipton, KS along with six grandchildren: Jaleecia Ewing, Jordyn Ewing, Solomon Goforth, Avery Goforth, Adelynn Miller and Gabriella Miller. Other survivors include her mother, Mary Pollitt; brother, Kevin (Nancy) Kennedy and stepbrother, Eric Pollitt, along with several nieces and nephews. Chris is preceded in death by her father, King Farrar Kennedy, and her stepfather, Milt Pollitt.
Chris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending her childrens’ and grandchildrens’ activities and always put others before herself. She had an in-home daycare, was secretary at the Beloit First Christian Church, and spent many summers lifeguarding at the Beloit Pool. She worked for Michael H. Olson Accounting prior to her retirement. Chris was known for her amazing seamstress abilities and artistic talent. Her cakes were a work of art along with all the crafts she enjoyed as a hobby from scrapbooking to making cards and Christmas stockings.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of a life well lived on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in Beloit.
Those wishing to pay their respects and sign the registration book may do so on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Roberts Family Funeral Service.
Memorials may be given to Beloit First Christian Church Women’s Ministries or Nicol Home in care of in care of the Roberts Family Funeral Home, 910 N. Campbell, Beloit, KS 67420.
The family would like to thank all those involved in Chris’s care for so many years. There are too many to mention individually.
