Mary Jane Studer was born to Erie Littleton and Nora Etta Humphrey Brewer on January 1, 1912 at Paducah, Kentucky. Her earthly life of 96 years, 3 months, and 22 days ended peacefully early Wednesday morning, April 23, 2008 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas.
Mary Jane moved from Kentucky to Asherville, Kansas at an early age along with her ten brothers and sisters. She attended Asherville grade school and graduated from Asherville High School in 1930. During her high school years, she played basketball and helped her father with the janitor duties he had at the school.
After graduation, she attended the Grand Island Business College in Grand Island, Nebraska for two years.
On July 25, 1940, she married Lloyd Frederick Holle. No children were born to this union. Dr. Holle had a dental practice in Beloit from 1946 until 1973 and they worked side-by-side until his retirement. Dr. Holle died on December 17, 1988.
On August 23, 1990, she married Carl David Studer. They enjoyed several years together until his death on January 29, 2004.
Mary Jane was known by her family and friends as a cheerful, happy and trustworthy person. She was always willing to hope those in need, and she was highly respected by those who knew her. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and collecting dolls.
A matriarch of First United Methodist Church, Mary Jane enjoyed singing in the choir for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lloyd, Floyd, Lake, Richard, and Milton Brewer; and sisters Myrtle and Mallie Brewer, Hazel Strawn, Lila Storz, and Marjorie Cadwell.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 28, 2008 at the McDonald Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Parker officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the McDonald Funeral Home
