Maxine Auldridge

July 9, 1911 — August 20, 2008

Frances Maxine Auldridge was born July 9, 1911 to Charles Welcome and Clara Erma Hutton Foster on a farm near Scottsville, Kansas. She departed this life of 97 years, 1 month and 11 days Wednesday morning, August 20, 2008 at the Mitchell County Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Beloit.

Maxine, as everyone knew her, graduated from Scottsville High School.

It was on June 2, 1935 that she was united in marriage to Kenneth Guy Auldridge at Cunningham, Kansas, and two daughters were born to that union. Kenneth and Maxine were privileged to celebrate nearly 60 years of married life together before his death on February 15, 1995.

Maxine was a very family and home oriented person. She loved her family, was always there for them, and loved cooking for them. Always busy, she took special pride in her home. When the housework was done to her satisfaction, she enjoyed sewing and quilting, and made numerous quilts for her family. Maxine though, did enjoy taking long vacations with her husband.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Her parents preceded in her in death. In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband; sisters Ila Vestal, Juanita Bandel; brothers Charles, Cecil, Joe, and Kenneth Foster, and a grandson Jeffery Scott Major.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her daughters Shirley Hudson and husband Joe of Wichita, Betty Major and husband Roger of Topeka; one sister Neomi Butler of Glasco; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Fogo officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Mitchell County Hospital Long Term Care Unit Activity Fund. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, and the casket will not be open at the service.
