Melvin Robert "Bob" Delay was born to Charles "Charlie" and Darlene (Grover) Delay on March 27, 1952 in Concordia, Kansas. He Graduated from Liberal High School in 1970.
Bob married LeAnn K. Toppenberg on May 16, 1970, in Liberal, Kansas. They were married until her passing in 2007. Two daughters were born to this union Tausia (Cornelson) and Stacia (Long.) Bob married Eva (Briones-Gonzalez) Delay in June of 2009, they settled in Cawker City, KS where they built their home, with a view of the lake which could be seen from their front porch.
Bob worked from 1970 to the present as a Fleet Specialist for National Carriers. He was known to be dependable, hard-working, and truly 'one of a kind.' Bob's hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing, boating, cooking and caring for his animals.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother Ron Delay and younger sister Terri Delay.
He is survived by his wife, Eva of Cawker City, Kansas: two daughters, Tausia (DeWayne) Cornelson, of Tyrone, Oklahoma, and Stacia Long and partner Les James of Liberal, Kansas; two sisters, Dixie (Bee) Symons, Pam (Jim) Bennett; four grandchildren, Shayla (Chris) Scott, Triston (Kaitlin) Cornelson, Kambrie Long and Kaiden (Dallas) Long. Great-grandchildren include, Freyja, Keaton, Josie, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and loved ones. Stepchildren include: Laurie Sample, Topeka;; Mary Albers, Orlando, Florida; Joshua Bryant, Windsor, CO and Anne Bryant, Hays.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday, July 31 at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Cawker City. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM, with family present from 4-6 PM Wednesday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit. Memorials may be given to the NCK Genealogical Society or Solomon Valley Community Foundation.
