Mildred Marie Spratte was born June 10, 1916 to Robert and Phoebe Jantzen Klotz on a farm near Emmeram, Kansas. She departed this life of 91 years, 7 months, and 29 days early Saturday morning, February 9, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Wilson, Kansas.
Mildred spent her early years in the Emmeram community in Ellis County, Kansas. She married John Begler, and to this union were born two daughters Nancy and Nadine. This union was later dissolved.
She later married George E. Spratte, and they made their home in Denver where she was a homemaker and resided in the Denver area until 1996 when she began receiving care at the Golden Living Center in Wilson, Kansas.
Mildred was a member of the Catholic Church, and during her life was involved with the Order of Eastern Star and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Nancy Miller; brothers Reinhardt, William, and Eugene; sisters Elizabeth, Helen, and Gloria.
Survivors are her daughter Nadine Bieker and husband Frank of Salina, Kansas; one step daughter Geraldine Roy of Syracuse, New York; two step sons Jack Spratte of Golden, Colorado, Robert Spratte of Broomfield, Colorado; one sister Roberta Coon of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers Edgar Klotz and wife Marjean of Lawrence, Kansas, Robert Klotz and wife Thelma of Hays, Kansas; two grandchildren Debra McDonald and husband Mark of Beloit, Kansas, Glen Bieker of Wilson, Kansas, six step grandchildren, and one great grandchild Avaree McDonald of Beloit, Kansas.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Fort Logan National
Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. There will be no visitation, memorials may be given to the Golden Living Center in Wilson.
