Milton L. Suter

Milton Lee Suter was born on November 13, 1932 on a farm east of Cawker City to Jacob Russell and Mary (Moxter) Suter. He died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit at the age of 77.
He went to school in Cawker City and graduated in 1950. The then went into the Army in January of 1952 until February of 1954, when he served in Germany. He returned and went to Sterling Community College in Sterling for two years before attending Ft. Hays State University and graduating in 1958. He then returned to Cawker City, where he farmed with his father.
He married Rosella Mae Fisher on September 16, 1964. They had two children, Carl and Karla. He was also a wonderful stepfather to Dan, Joe, Wes, and Allen.
Milton enjoyed working outside – he farmed most of his life. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as taking all of his grandkids fishing and camping with him. He loved to cook whenever the family was visiting. He worked as a meat butcher for over 20 years at Griffith in Downs, and also worked at Excel in Sterling, Colorado and Pork Packers in Downs.
He is survived by his wife Rosella of Cawker City; son Carl of Cawker City; daughter Karla (Curt) Doxon of Edson, KS; Dan DePoy of Grand Island, Joe (JoEllen) DePoy of Glen Elder, Wes (Cindy) DePoy of Beverly, KS, Allen (Brenda) DePoy of Cawker City; grandkids Michael, Robert, Molly, Courtney, Darcel, Wesley, Shaun, Bryce, Tyleigh, Misty, Shannon, Dustin; 12 great grandkids; sister Helen VonDemfange of Topeka; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Warren Suter; and a granddaughter Kelly Lynn Doxon.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 24 at the Cawker City United Methodist Church with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 7:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Mitchell County Hospital.
