Nancy L. Foulke

May 7, 1946 — August 8, 2020

Beloit

Nancy Lou Foulke was born on May 7, 1946 to Ovid and Mable Gray of Beloit, Kansas. She peacefully passed away at her home in Beloit on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Nancy was 74 years old.

Nancy graduated from Beloit High School in the class of 1964. On May 18, 1965, Nancy was united in marriage to Wayne Allen Foulke and the two made their home in Beloit. Eight children were born to this union. Wayne and Nancy recently celebrated their 55 th wedding anniversary.

Nancy was a dedicated, hard worker. While raising her own family, Nancy worked as a housekeeper to many local residents and at the NCK Technical College in Beloit. She also volunteered her time with the Mitchell County chapter of the American Cancer Society. Her favorite job was caring for her grandchildren during their infant, toddler, and preschool years.

Nancy was known for her good sense of humor, willingness to help, pie-making skills, and love for her family and extended family (especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren). She was happiest when rocking her grand-babies to sleep. As her grandchildren grew, you could find Nancy in the audience, in the bleachers, or on the sidelines cheering them on in their many sports and school activities. Nancy also loved to watch movies and sports, and could often be found in front of a television cheering on her favorite K-State Wildcats, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas City Royals. She enjoyed traveling (especially the fun Gray girl getaways she took with her 7 sisters), meeting new people, and sharing stories with friends and family. Nancy was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved holidays and family get-togethers and would spend hours cooking and preparing for the large family meals. Thankfully, Nancy always had her camera in hand to record the memories for us to always remember. She also took pride in using the many pictures she took to create scrapbooks for her children and grandchildren that she gave to them after special occasions. Nancy was a woman of many talents and will be incredibly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ovid and Mable Gray, her sisters, Doris Cataldi and Ruth Pritchett, and her brother, Gerald Gray.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Foulke and their eight children, Greg Foulke of Beloit, Brenda (George) Keffer of Inman, KS, Scott Foulke of San Antonio, TX, Marsha Verhage of Beloit, Brian Foulke of Beloit, Lisa (Matt) Blad of Beloit, Amanda (Dan) Rader of Lenexa, and Shelly Foulke of Beloit; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Rush of Pratt, Virginia McIntire of Corona, CA, Shirley Hayden, Janice Dameron, and Mary Gray all of Beloit; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, August 14 at the Beloit First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from Noon until 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Per her request, the casket will remain closed. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or NCK Home Health.
