Noni M. Carnes

February 25, 1939 — March 4, 2010

Noni Carnes was born Eleanor Mae Burke to Donna and Jake Burke on February 25, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio. She was received into Heaven and the arms of her Savior on March 4, 2010 after a long and well fought battle with cancer. She attended school in Sunnyvale, California. She was united in marriage in 1957 to Glen Springer and three children were born of that marriage: Kim, Jim, and Ron. Glen passed away in 1959. In 1960, Noni married Mick McGuire. Mick adopted Noni's three children, and two were born to this union, Donna and Mickey. Noni and Mick divorced in 1984. Noni was married briefly to Don Carnes in 1991.
Noni lived in California, Texas, and Nebraska, but always considered Mitchell County, Kansas her home more than any other place.
Noni loved her children, grandchildren, family, and friends deeply. Her relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ guided her and gave her strength and hope in life and especially during her struggle with cancer. She loved and appreciated the support of her Church family and was baptized and became a member of the Glen Elder Christian Church on August 18, 2002. She was also an active member of the Ladies Aid group. Noni loved Bingo and played regularly in Concordia and Osborne. Noni also cherished the "girls" of Hospice and all their loving care.
Noni was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Scott Jacob Ingram, and a brother Richard Burke.
Survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Southern of Springtown, TX, Donna Seburg and husband Scott of Jackson, MI, and Mickey Skelton and husband Steve of Omaha; two sons, Jim McGuire of Glen Elder, and Ron McGuire of Washington state; 10 grandchildren, Randie Michelle Thomason, Susan Mae Ingram, Jacob Marvin William McGuire, Jason Scott McGuire, James Bo McGuire, Chelsey Marie Seburg, Kristin Nicole Seburg, Trenten Michael Kenneth Skelton, Brady Thomas Skelton, and Coleton James Skelton; 2 great grandchildren, Richard Lane Thomason and Ryan Kaden Thomason; one sister Janet Baker of Dayton, OH; and one brother Ken Burke of Oakdale, CA.
