Norma J. Kastrup

Norma Jane Kastrup was born July 17, 1942 to Frank and Hilda Choitz Behrens in Lincoln, Kansas. Norma was the last of five children. She departed this life Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.
Norma went to LPN Nursing School in Dodge City, Kansas. She started her career at the Russell Hospital where she worked with her longtime friend Kathy Merkel. Then, Norma worked on the night shift at the Downs Nursing Center for over twenty years before her retirement.
Norma married Bob Kastrup at St. John's Lutheran Church, south of Lincoln, Kansas on December 20, 1969. To this union two sons were born, James Edward in Russell, Kansas and Jeffery Alan in Beloit, Kansas. Norma stayed home to raise her boys until they were in Jr. High.
Norma is survived by her husband Bob of the home in Glen Elder, son Jim Kastrup of Cawker City, Kansas, son Jeff Kastrup and wife Linda of Cawker City, Kansas; grandchildren Dalton James and Michealla Bronwyn Kastrup of Cawker City, Kansas; one sister Melva Achterberg , one brother Elmer Behrens both of Lincoln, Kansas.
Her parents Frank and Hilda Behrens preceded her in death. In addition, she was preceded in death by two brothers Delbert and Virgil Behrens.
Norma took pleasure in her children and grandchildren's school activities and sports. Norma always tried to make it to all the events. Norma also loved to go hunting and fishing with the kids and grandkids whenever possible.
Cremation was chosen and interment of her ashes will be at a later date. Arrangements were under the care and direction of McDonald-Roberts Funeral Service, Beloit, Kansas.
